Lost Manuscript

Babel MS 22

No text from this manuscript and only the thinnest of strips survive but we can surmise something of its nature: we have the full width of the page which demonstrates this was a substantial book. The layout, bicolumnar with an extra column to the left reserved, it seems, for the initial, suggests that it was a liturgical volume. It would appear that the text and illumination were discarded, with the binder interested in using only those elements with the least signs of intervention.
