Colchester: University of Essex Library, Harsnett H.d.44
Jena: Tobias Steinman, 1591
Gold-tooled fillet intersecting at edges; Whitgift arms as centrepiece; remains of ties of waxed cord on lower board and at lower station on upper board.
- John Whitgift (1530–1604), archbishop of Canterbury, 1583–1604: evidence of binding.
- Richard Bancroft (1544-1610), archbishop of Canterybury, 1604-1610: inferred from the descent of Whitgift's books, and the presence of a tab from Babel MS 18.
- Samuel Harsnett (1561–1631), archbishop of York, 1629–31, presumably passed to him on the death of Bancroft, whose executor he was.
