About the Centre

The Centre for Bibliographical History at the University of Essex exists to undertake and promote research and teaching in the history of the book, in bibliography and in information studies.

The Centre was founded by Prof. James Raven and its present Co-Director is Dr David Rundle. Under his direction, the Centre has developed a range of activities. These have included study-days and an intensive ab initio Latin Summer School, as well as research projects, of which Lost Manuscripts is one.
